Birthday gift- Commission for Queen Rania of Jordan Menu Next

Commissioned by Queen Rania of Jordan, the sculptural paper gift was produced in an edition of five hundred to mark her Majesty's birthday on the 10th September 2010. A sculpture was given away to each guest in attendance at her Majesty's birthday reception.
The shape of the piece was created in response to the form of sand dunes, and the sculpture has a distinct appearance depending on the angle of viewing. Generated and refined through a series of hand-made maquettes, the final model was scanned into the computer to create a file for the laser cutting of the layouts, which were then glued by hand.
